This toolbook has been prepared by Frank Wijckmans and Karolien Francken. Frank acted as expert advisor to DG Competition for the purposes of the preparation of the new vertical block exemption regime (Regulation 2022/720). He teaches the course on the “Law and Economics of Vertical Restraints” at the Brussels School of Competition. He is co-author of “Vertical Agreements in EU Competition Law” (Oxford University Press). Karolien is a very experienced speaker at conferences and compliance trainings on competition law in general and verticals in particular. She publishes frequently in the field of competition law.
The objective of the toolbook is to provide handy access to Regulation 2022/720 and the Vertical Guidelines. It encompasses a practical roadmap (based on a Q&A format), the relevant texts (in which search terms are highlighted) and an index. Finding your way in the current regime on vertical agreements was never easier.
